Teachers

Eleonor Palacio Farolito Spanish Language School

Eleonor Palacio (founder)

Born in Argentina, Eleonor graduated as a Literary Translator (Spanish -English) from the University of the National Social Museum (Buenos Aires), she holds a Bachelor of Arts (Linguistics) from Monash University, and she is a NAATI (National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters) Professional translator.

She moved to Australia in 2002 and she has since been teaching Spanish as a Second Language to adults, privately and at several Melbourne schools.  She holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and she has completed a course in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from the Argentinean Association of Teachers of Spanish (AADE).   

Eleonor opened Farolito Spanish Language School in 2007, delivering group classes at different locations and at Farolito´s own premises in South Yarra from 2011.    

Interests: Eleonor is passionate about Latin American Literature; she enjoys absurdist theatre and she is learning to dance tango.

'From my own experience, I understand what it is involved in learning a second/foreign language. I ensure my classes are interactive and fun, using audio, visual and tactile materials to stimulate the students' learning'.

 

Luis Escudero

 

 

 

Luis Escudero

Born in Valparaíso, Chile, Luis grew up surrounded by the sounds of Latin America and developed a loved for music which he incorporates in his teaching, particularly in our children's playgroups.

He has worked as a Spanish and French teacher for both adults and children in Montreal, where he lived for 11 years. He holds a Certificate in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the CEB (Centre of Education Baser, Canada) and an Advance Diploma in Steiner Education (Canada-Australia).

Interests: Luis loves literature, especially Latin American poetry, and he is a poet himself. He is a percussionist and he also plays the kena (Andean flute). Listen to Luis' band Reflejos  http://reflejosmusique.com/?page_id=7

Diana Velásquez Peñalosa

Diana is from Colombia, where she worked as a kindergarten and primary school teacher for over six years.  Diana holds a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education majoring in Humanities and Languages (Libre University of Colombia), an Advance Diploma of Interpreting in English-Spanish (Ozford College), a Certificate IV in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and a Certificate III in Children Services.  

Diana has worked as a Spanish teacher for adults in several centres in Melbourne and joined Farolito`s Spanish-teaching experts in 2011.  Her strong motivation for teaching shines through in her teaching to adults and children alike.
