Unit 4 - ¿Dónde está?

  • Asking and saying where a place is located. 
  • Saying what places of interest are found in your town.
  • Talking about distance.
  • Asking for and giving directions.
  • Numbers 20-99.
  • Ordinal numbers (first, second…).

Grammatical points:

  • Use of verb ESTAR to express location. Contrast to verb SER.
  • Irregular verbs IR-VENIR.
  • Locutions of place (al ado de, enfrente de, etc). 
  • Definite and Indefinite articles.

Unit 5 - En el mercado

  • Shopping for groceries.
  • Shopping for fruit and vegetables.
  • Finding out what things cost. 
  • Large numbers.

Grammatical points:

  • Introduction of verb QUERER to ask for things: QUIERO-QUISIERA-QUERIA.
  • How much/how many. Accordance with noun in gender and number: cuánto/cuántos/cuánta/cuantás

Unit 16 - En el restaurante

  • Ordering food in a restaurant.
  • Saying what you eat every day.
  • Different foods in the Hispanic world.
  • Discribing a recipe.

Grammatical points:

  • Use of preposition in relation to food: sopa DE tomate, melon CON jamón, etc.
  • Use of the prepositional form of pronouns: para , para ti, etc.
  • Use of SE to mark impersonality.

Unit 6 - La vida cotidiana

  • Saying how often you do things.
  • Saying the time. 
  • Describing your daily routine.

Grammatical points:

  • Consolidation of present tense conjugations for regular verbs. Introduction to radical changing verbs.
  • Reflexive verbs. Use of reflexive particles: ME-TE-SE…
